Once we found out that Livie was a girl, my Etsy purchases became out of control… once we settled on a name, there was no stopping me! I wanted a personalized swaddle blanket for the hospital, and kept coming back to Audrey’s Bear Etsy shop (now she has her own website that is super easy to navigate and order, check it out here!). I couldn’t get enough of the adorable pictures of newborns in these blankets. I had to have one!
There are so many reasons to love this shop. Rachel, the owner, is so amazing to work with! She’s a mother, so she knows what works and what doesn’t, and these blankets definitely work! The swaddle blankets are SO soft and lightweight, which was perfect for my summer baby, but are big enough to be folded for more layers in the winter. She uses a soft, stretchy fabric that she actually had made specifically for her product, and is great for a newborn’s sensitive skin. She also sends you a proof to be sure you love your design, perfect for people like me that can’t decide on a font! And probably my favorite reason, for every Audrey’s Bear blanket purchased, she donates one to a NICU as part of her Swaddle4Swaddle program. How amazing is that??
This blanket has come to be very special to me. Each time I look at it I remember how I wrapped Livia up in it in the hospital when she was less than one day old, how I draped it over her to keep her warm on the rainy day we brought her home, and how each month I use it as a backdrop as I document how much she has grown and changed. My hope is that this blanket becomes a comfort item for her too, and when she snuggles it she is reminded of loving memories.
These blankets, along with a matching beanie or headband, would make the perfect gift for anyone you know that has a little one, or one on the way.
Thanks Audrey’s Bear!
