Earlier this week we got back from our first major road trip with Livia. We went to the east coast to introduce Livia to both of her great-grandmothers. Soon I will have post about our successes and failures (yes, unfortunately there were some) on the road, but for now I’m sharing just a few things we did on the trip! Follow me on Instagram (@jesstotura) if you want to see more pics of our daily lives!
Alex’s family members are huge Penn State fans, so we took a day to go to State College and walk around campus. I didn’t realize until we were there how strange it must have looked to be walking around campus with a baby. We definitely didn’t fit in with the college crowd, but we spent most of our time at the famous Berkey Creamery where there were plenty of families with little kids. This is the Nittany Lion statue, where it is apparently a ‘thing’ to get your picture taken with it. I have heard on graduation day there is an extensive line to get picture with it. So we obviously had to!
On the second half of our trip we stayed just outside of Baltimore, and got to visit the National Aquarium with Livia. Being a holiday weekend it was extremely crowded, but we were able to check out all the exhibits, and Livia really enjoyed following the fish as they swam by in front of her. I even touched a Jellyfish! We also both got a chance to do some baby wearing with our Lillebaby carrier. Our little snuggler loved every minute of it!
And finally, I have to include pictures of the main reasons we took the trip, Livia’s great grandmothers. It is such a special thing to have great-grandparents, and we are so glad we were able to take her to visit both of them in one trip!
